Mobile Learning Technologies for 21st Century Classrooms
“Kitabi” is a new interactive mobile application for reading digital books, whereby users can interact with tablets by highlighting texts, adding notes, searching keywords, enabling better learning experience. “Kitabi” platform can extend to enrich books with learning objects such as animations, videos and quizzes.

In collaboration with the Syndicate of Scholar Publishers Union in Lebanon, EduLab aims to empower the Lebanese educational system by introducing interactive content into tablets. There are numerous benefits associated with the use of mobile computing devices such as the iPad and Android tablets in classrooms. Many see the tablet as a versatile, powerful tool that is changing the face of education – both students and teachers have access to an unquantifiable amount of educational apps that can be purchased through the App Store. Moreover, EduLab has partnered with several local publishers to convert its books to be used on tablets using “Kitabi” reader application. Kitabi Reader is built with rich set of features. This App can seamlessly integrates eBooks with embedded videos, synched audio, image banks and interactive assessments, seeking to enhance learning and entice readers. The new page rendering engine provides fast loading and speedy page-turning. This App also allows users to make personal notes, highlight text in the eBook and see them consolidated for easy reviewing.
